Gilfach Goch 0-80 Blackwood RFC

Blackwood advance into the next round of the Division 2 cup after a twelve try thrashing of Gilfach Goch.

Tries from Ben Stokes, Jacob Kenniford, Connor Lewis, Kian Goswin, a double from Jack Morris and a pair of hattricks from Morgan Evans and Callum Gleadall gave Blackwood an easy run into the next round of their cup journey.

The visitors crossed over after just eight minutes when winger Morgan Evans put a chip into the backfield and collected brilliantly to open the scoring for the match.

It would only be six minutes later when Blackwood grabbed their second Gleadall collecting an offload from Josh Law to cross for the second score of the game.

Blackwood would have to wait until the 31st minute for their next try when Gleadall danced his way to the line from close range to grab his second and notch up his second conversion of the match.

Amazingly from the resulting kick off the visitors hit their fourth of the game Jack Morris linking up well with Kian Godwin for the flanker to burst down field and over the whitewash.

Evans would grab his second and Blackwood's fifth just before the hafl time whistle The speedster dancing his way down the wing leaving Gilfach defenders in his wake.

With the half time score sat 33-0 to Blackwood the game looked settled already with Gilfach being simply bullied off the paddock.

Four minutes into the second half and Gleadall secured his hattrick. The flying flyhalf racing down the wing to flex Blackwood's muscle even further.

A further three minutes would pass before Blackwood crossed for try number seven. This time Evans secured his hattrick linking up with Kenniford before darting for the try line.

Kenniford would go from provider to finisher with a great solo effort to cross over for Blackwood's eight try and take the scoreline to 54-0 with Gleadall's seventh conversion.

Blackwood's simplest try would come when Connor Lewis crossed over from the back of a scrum after some appauling defence from the home side allowing the winger an easy run in.

Morris would add his name to the try scorers list with a lovely solo effort dancing his way over from the 5-meter line.

Late into the match and Morris grabbed his second of the afternoon linking upo with Stokes in the center of the field for blackwood's eleventh try of the game and Gleadall's final conversion of the afternoon.

In the final minute of the game and Stokes would grab a try for himself when the scrum half ran in under the uprights from half way to take the score to 80-0 and the final whistle painted a horrible picture for the hosts.

Twelve tries and ten conversions have drawn Blackwood with a home tie agaisnt Porthcawl at Glan Yr Afon park on the 7th of December.
